At MDT, we help both adults and young patients. In the framework of our cooperation with the Children’s Hospital in Brno, we dealt with a case of a sixteen-year-old girl, who suffered from unclear heart troubles during irregular sports performances.
Pětačtyřicetiletetý pacient s hypertrofickou kardiomyopatií (HKMP) s opakovanými presynkopálními stavy. Při standardním 24hodinovém EKG holteru byl po celou dobu monitorace přítomen sinusový rytmus se zcela ojedinělými KES, 2× v tripletu.
The patient fainted during training. Subsequently, he visited a doctor. He complained of significant palpitations, cold sweat and a state bordering on collapse, but the results of basic tests were inconclusive, so his doctor recommended long-term monitoring.
This was a case of a 57-year-old patient, whose dosage of a drug for treatment of essential thrombocythemia was increased. However, this increase began to trigger tachycardia. The patient described symptoms such as palpitations, chest pain and heart pain.
A 65-year-old patient suffered from subjective difficulties with irregular heartbeat leading to recurrent syncopes. The cause of the difficulties was not clarified either during outpatient examinations or during the 24-hour long Holter ECG examination.
